Established in 2015, Zakifo is Sakifo’s African sister. An international music festival with an eclectic line up ranging from pop through reggae, rock and world music, held annually on Durban, South Africa’s world famous beachfront. More than just music, Zakifo is a week-long build-up of music industry engagements, workshops and couch-sessions. Our sister-festival, Sakifo is the most significant music event in the Indian Ocean, attracting huge audiences as well as music-buyers and festival professionals from around the world, thus strengthening and invigorating the music industry of Reunion Island.

Our aim is to build a similar event in Durban, that positively impacts and nurtures South-South cultural partnerships and collaborations with Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa at it’s epicentre.
